Attorney Shari D. Bihms graduated in the top 5% of her graduating class at Booker T. Washington High School & the High School for Engineering Professions (2003). Shari was fortunate to have received a vast amount of money for her higher education.  She attended her dream college, Howard University where she actively participated in student activities and organizations and fought for human rights around the District.  Ms. Bihms entered into Prairie View A&M University’s graduate school where she received her master’s degree in counseling.  Ms. Bihms completed her teacher’s certification and was employed by M.C. Williams Middle School of the Houston Independent School District.  Soon thereafter she decided to pursue the law.  Ms. Bihms is a proud graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law (Texas Southern University) and is a solo practioner for Shari D. Bihms & Associates.

A native Houstonian, LaGloria Wheatfall grew up on the north side, graduating with honors from S.P. Waltrip Senior High in 2004. She went off to obtain her undergraduate degree from Clark Atlanta University. With a major in Mass Media Arts, and a concentration in Television Production, the foundation of her journalistic experience was developed while working as the Executive Producer at CAU-TV Chanel 23 in Atlanta, Georgia.  She managed a group of student employees and volunteers to produce a live 5-minute news broadcast, which aired in over 90,000 homes on Comcast. LaGloria also sharpened her journalism skills by interning with WXIA-TV Channel 11 Alive and the Georgia Public Broadcast. Her work in journalism expands internationally as she served as a youth journalist for the Black AIDS Institute at the International AIDS Conference in Mexico City, Mexico.

 

During her matriculation at Clark Atlanta, she had the opportunity to spend a year to study abroad at Richmond: The American International University in London, England. While attending university, she immersed herself in various cultures, having travelled to Paris, Milan, Germany, and Morocco. Her passion for travelling was cultivated again, after working and living abroad, in South Korea as an English teacher.  A recent graduate from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, LaGloria received her Masters of Arts in International Studies in 2014.

 

She is currently the new multi-media coordinator for the Defender Media Group.  LaGloria first began working for the Defender in 2009, producing a series of “Who’s Got Game” basketball videos after a partnership with the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and the Defender emerged. From that, she began to hone her writing skills and was hired as the Local Editor in 2014, where she was in charge of writing and managing local content both online and for print.

 

As CEO of LaGLOW Productions, a company that provides video production and editing services, LaGloria continues to build and brand as well as expand her journalistic career.

Dr. Connie Le is a native Houstonian. She went to college at the University of St.Thomas. After graduation, she attended University of Texas School of Dentistry.  Her love of dentistry has allowed her to interact and help people from diverse backgrounds. She has two rambunctious children , a girl and a boy.

 

She loves to explore and discover everything that Houston has to offer.

Cevera White is a 20 year employee at CenterPoint Energy, she holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University.  She is a member of the Gulf Coast Power Association emPOWERing women, a regular contributor to Grads Within Reach, Texas Scholars & Junior Achievement.  Cevera prides herself in volunteerism and establishing constructive and effective relationships with individuals of all levels and strives to make a difference in the community.  She enjoys traveling, investing in real-estate and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
